Pacific Industrial names Link Logistics West Region head as CEO for seven-market push
By Real Estate Wire Staff, . Real Estate Wire.
Pacific Industrial, the Long Beach-based industrial developer, has appointed Bud Pharris as chief executive officer, according to The Registry. Pharris most recently ran the West Region for Link Logistics, the Blackstone-owned logistics real estate platform, where he oversaw operations across nine markets.
The hire is explicitly tied to geographic expansion. Pacific Industrial is targeting seven markets stretching from Seattle to Phoenix, a significant step out from its Southern California base.
The strategic logic is straightforward: Pacific Industrial is bringing in someone who has already operated at scale across the western United States and knows the tenant relationships, land pipelines and competitive dynamics in the markets it wants to enter. Running a nine-market region for one of the largest industrial landlords in the country is a different job than developing in one metro, and that gap is what this hire is meant to close.
What The Registry's report does not establish is the timeline for that expansion, the capital structure behind it, or whether Pacific Industrial is pursuing ground-up development, acquisitions, or both in the new markets. Those details would materially change how competitors and potential capital partners should read this move. No other outlets had reported on the appointment at the time of publication.
