Krusinski Construction Names Steven Waltersdorf Director of Safety

Krusinski Construction Company, headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, has appointed Steven "Wally" Waltersdorf as its Director of Safety, REJournals reported.

Waltersdorf brings more than 12 years of safety, compliance and process improvement experience spanning building construction, roadway, railroad, energy and aviation work. He holds a Certified Safety Professional designation and an Associate Safety Professional credential, along with OSHA 30 certification and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

What the role covers

In the new position, Waltersdorf will run Krusinski's safety excellence program, developing project-specific safety plans, identifying jobsite hazards and overseeing safety training and incident investigations. He will also handle project safety compliance across the company's portfolio.

Before joining Krusinski, he provided safety leadership and consultation across a range of project environments, helping teams manage jobsite risk and maintain regulatory compliance.

What to watch

For a construction firm operating across complex, multi-discipline projects, a dedicated safety director represents a defined organizational commitment. Waltersdorf's cross-sector background, particularly in railroad, energy and aviation, indicates experience applying safety frameworks beyond standard commercial construction. How the role integrates into day-to-day project operations is not detailed in the announcement.
